Eligibility Criteria for IBPS PO Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification (As of July 21, 2026)

  • Candidates must hold a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

  • Candidates must have a valid mark-sheet or degree certificate indicating their graduation percentage at the time of online registration.

Age Limit (As of July 1, 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 20 Years

  • Maximum Age: 30 Years

  • Note: Candidates must have been born between July 2, 1996, and July 1, 2006 (both dates inclusive).

Upper Age Relaxation

  • SC / ST: 5 Years

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years

  • PwBD (Persons Benchmark Disabilities): 10 Years

Salary / Pay of Scale : IBPS PO Recruitment 2026

Basic: ₹ 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920. The official will be eligible for allowances & perquisites as per rules of the Participating Bank in force from time to time.

Application Fees & Intimation Charges

The application fee must be paid online between July 1, 2026, and July 21, 2026:

  • SC / ST / PwBD Candidates: Rs. 175/- (inclusive of GST)

Examination Structure

The selection process is executed in three successive tiers: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and a Common Interview.

1. Preliminary Examination (Objective)

Candidates must pass each individual section by securing the minimum cut-off marks decided by IBPS.

  • English Language: 30 Questions / 30 Marks (20 Minutes)

  • Quantitative Aptitude: 35 Questions / 30 Marks (20 Minutes)

  • Reasoning Ability: 35 Questions / 40 Marks (20 Minutes)

  • Total: 100 Questions / 100 Marks (60 Minutes)

2. Main Examination (Objective & Descriptive)

  • Objective Tests: 170 Questions covering Reasoning, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English, and Data Analysis & Interpretation for a total of 200 Marks (160 Minutes).

  • Descriptive Test: 2 Questions (Essay and Comprehension) for 25 Marks (30 Minutes).

Negative Marking: There is a penalty for incorrect objective answers. Every wrong response will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks (one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question).
