Overview: GSSSB CCE Syllabus 2026

The Combined Competitive Examination is being conducted for various Group-A and Group-B Class 3 posts under the Gujarat Government. The Preliminary Examination will serve as the first stage of the selection process and will assess candidates’ language skills, reasoning ability, quantitative aptitude, and general knowledge.

3. General Awareness and Current Affairs (30 Marks)

The syllabus for this section relies extensively on Gujarat State Board Textbooks (GSSTB) and NCERT standards (Class 12 level).

• History: Harappan Civilization, Vedic Religion and Culture, Jainism & Buddhism, Maurya Age, Gupta Period & Harshvardhan Era, Arrival of Europeans, Mutiny of 1857, Social & Religious Reformation Movements, National Movements (1857-1919), Struggle for Independence (1919-1947), and Modern History of India.

• Cultural Heritage: Heritage of India, traditional handicrafts, fine arts, sculpture, architecture, literary heritage, science and technology developments, and preservation of heritage sites.

• Geography: Earth’s origin, evolution, and interior structure; earthquakes & volcanoes; continents & oceans; rocks, minerals, soil, landforms; atmosphere, temperature, winds, humidity; hydrosphere & biosphere; disaster management; human population & settlements; human economic activities (primary to quinary); transport, communication, trade, and natural resources.

• Polity (Political Science): Core concepts of democracy, nationalism, secularism, citizenship, Indian Constitution framing & features, Fundamental Rights, Duties, DPSP, Union and State government frameworks (Legislature, Executive, Judiciary), Local Self-Government (Panchayats/Urban local bodies), political parties, elections, and challenges to democracy.

• Economics: Fundamental concepts, demand & supply, money & inflation, cost & revenue, markets, economic reforms, national income, budget, banking & monetary policy, poverty, unemployment, population, agriculture, industry, foreign trade, and emerging economic issues.

• General Science: Atoms, molecules, motion, laws of motion, gravitation, work & energy, sound, light (reflection & refraction), electricity, magnetism, cells, tissues, life processes, crop production, microorganisms, and conservation.

• Current Affairs: Important contemporary events of regional (Gujarat), national, and international importance.

4. English Language (15 Marks)

Evaluated at a Class 10 lower-level standard:

• Tenses, Voice (Active/Passive), Direct/Indirect Speech

• Articles, Determiners, Adjectives, Prepositions, Conjunctions, Verbs, Adverbs, Nouns, Pronouns

• Jumbled words and sentences

• Synonyms, Antonyms, Homonyms/Homophones

• શબ્દસમૂહ માટે એક શબ્દ

• જોડણીશુદ્ધિ અને ભાષાશુદ્ધિ/લેખનશુદ્ધિ

• સંધિ જોડો કે છોડો

• સમાનાર્થી અને વિરોધાર્થી શબ્દો

• નિપાત, ધ્વનિ, વ્યંજન-સ્વર જોડી શબ્દ બનાવવો
